A global engineering manufacturer in the heavy material handling plant equipment sector is hiring in its UK service leadership team and is now recruiting a Regional Service Manager for the Central Region. The area primarily covers central England and Wales.

The Opportunity
You’ll lead a team of Field Service Engineers delivering maintenance, repairs, upgrades, and contract support for heavy material handling equipment used in demanding industrial and port environments. You will be field-based, with regular visits to our UK HQ in the Midlands. Your focus will be to:
- Lead, coach, and develop a high‑performing regional service team
- Drive service sales growth across digital solutions, upgrades, refurbishments, and contracts
- Ensure service delivery excellence, customer satisfaction, and safe working practices
- Manage regional performance, costs, planning, and resource allocation
- Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal teams
- Support wider business strategy and translate it into regional action
- Maintain a strong sales pipeline and achieve agreed revenue and margin targets
This is a hands‑on leadership role where you’ll shape the region’s performance and play a key part in the UK service operation.
What You’ll Bring
Essential:
- Engineering qualification
- Experience managing a field‑based service team
- Background in service delivery within heavy equipment, plant, materials handling, or similar
- Strong commercial awareness and proven sales experience
- Excellent people management skills, including ER, investigations, and performance management
- Customer‑focused mindset and ability to build strong relationships
- Strong problem‑solving, communication, and influencing skills
- High IT literacy, analytical capability, and a structured approach to planning
Preferred:
- Knowledge of UK employment law
- Experience with heavy materials handling plant equipment
- Proven leadership in a technical service environment
Package & Benefits
- Salary: ÂŁ56,401.44
- Car Allowance: ÂŁ9,000
- Additional Car Allowance: ÂŁ1,800 (paid immediately due to expected mileage)
