Role Overview Seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to play a key role in delivering high‑quality mechanical building services design across a diverse and complex project portfolio. This position offers the opportunity to take ownership of design delivery, lead projects, support client engagement and mentor junior engineers within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. Key Responsibilities * Lead the design of mechanical building services including HVAC, heating, cooling, ventilation and public health systems * Produce detailed design calculations, drawings, specifications and technical reports * Manage projects from concept through to completion, ensuring technical accuracy and compliance * Conduct site surveys, feasibility studies and technical assessments across varied building types * Coordinate closely with electrical engineers, architects, structural teams and contractors * Ensure designs meet all relevant regulations, standards and sustainability requirements * Attend client meetings, present design solutions and support technical decision‑making * Provide guidance and mentoring to junior and intermediate engineers * Contribute to continuous improvement, innovation and best practice within the design team Candidate Requirements * Strong experience in mechanical building services design within the UK * Excellent technical understanding of HVAC and public health systems * Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, IES or similar design software * Solid knowledge of UK building regulations and CIBSE guidelines * Proven ability to manage projects and deliver high‑quality design solutions * Confident communicator with the ability to engage effectively with clients and stakeholders * Chartered or working towards Chartership (desirable) What the Company Offers * Competitive salary and benefits package * Opportunity to work across a wide range of public and private sector buildings * Clear progression pathways into Principal or Associate level * A supportive, collaborative team environment * Exposure to technically challenging and socially impactful projects If you are interested in the above role we'd love to hear from you
