Overview
You will be leading and managing the UK BIM & Piping team in terms of operational delivery and excellence, to resource allocation against projects and to Learning & Development of the team.
You will play an active role in managing and developing client relationships and accounts as well as contributing to proposals and technical delivery and execution against projects.
This is a highly visible and rewarding role within the UK business with a diverse range of responsibility.
This role can be based out of the Birmingham or Manchester office.
Responsibilities
- Support the Process Group Manager to develop and deliver digital design services for Piping, MEP (REVIT), 3D coordination and project information elements of our projects.
- Develop the team across the UK business units ensuring on-going personal development needs identified, so that the team has the correct mix of staff and contract resources.
- Take technical responsibility for the team to ensure flawless delivery, working within hour budgets set by projects. Ensure the highest quality of design, engineering and advice on all projects.
- Ensure the teams across the business units stay aligned with best practices in industry.
- Actively input into PM Group Technology initiatives and drive the Group strategy in terms of PDP / BIM or other applications within your department.
- Ensure compliance with PM Group and/or customer procedures, organise appropriate reviews (including peer reviews) and approve project documents for issue.
- Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure the correct quality of deliverables are achieved in the correct timeframe based on the project schedule.
- Support the Business Development team and Process Group Manager to provide support to proposals across UK Business Units as required.
- Manage, develop and mentor resources in the department across the UK including supporting the Apprenticeship and NEXT Graduate Program.
- Overseeing the recruitment, development and MEP Designers to meet project requirements.
- Identify training and development needs and ensure appropriate support provided to personnel in your department.
- Supporting the development and rollout of initiatives to improve efficiency and quality
- To ‘sell’ excess capacity to other business units within the Group.
Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree level and or qualification equivalent to IEng or Eng Tech registration.
- Strong level of knowledge and experience within the digital design environment (piping and / or MEP).
- Project experience within PM Group’s core sectors (e.g. Pharma, Mission Critical, or Advanced Manufacturing).
- Proven experience in multi-disciplinary project delivery environments.
- An accomplished leader with the ability to build and motivate a team.
- Self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook and a clear focus on high quality.
- Self-starter, decision maker with strong work ethic.
- Flexibility to travel both inside and outside the UK as required.
- Critically assesses own performance and performance of others.
- Customer focused with a demonstrable ability to communicate effectively with clients, including good presentation skills.
- A willingness to take responsibility, identify and manage project issues to a satisfactory conclusion.
