PM Group requires a construction manager to support a chemicals client in the North West.
Responsibilities:
- Acting as a representative for the client in all construction activities on site.
- Managing permits to work, RAMS, etc.
- Working alongside existing client engineers, managers, directors, and managing sub-contractors on site.
- Act as Principal Contractor on behalf of the client for designated projects.
- Ensuring compliance with the Construction Design and Management regulations (CDM) across large and complex capital projects.
- Lead implementation of CDM requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
- Delivering the project on time and within budget, in accordance with industry and client-specific EHS and QA/QC standards and procedures.
- Reviewing and approving technical documentation.
- Liaising with project teams, other departments, senior management, and contractors.
- Providing construction quality and technical oversight, managing change, mitigating risk, managing costs and managing the schedule.
- Directing and supervising contractors during construction and installation.
- Managing change control.
Qualifications:
- Applicants should have demonstrable experience of leading construction teams acting as Principal Constructor or CDM Manager on large industrial, energy or process plant projects.
- Extensive experience in managing construction on projects within the chemicals sector.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Strong working knowledge of CDM 2015, HSE guidance and relevant UK legislation.
- Degree or equivalent in Construction Management, Engineering or similar discipline is desired.
- NEBOSH Construction certificate, NVQ Level 6/7 in Construction Health & Safety or equivalent is beneficial.
- Strong management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
This role is believed to be a full time position.
