About the role
If you're an experienced Gas Supervisor, Senior Gas Engineer, or Team Leader looking to take the next step in your career, this is your opportunity to lead a skilled team, shape service delivery, and make a real impact in the homes and communities of Plymouth. At Plymouth Community Homes, you'll be trusted to lead our in-house Gas Servicing Team, ensuring thousands of residents receive safe, reliable, and high-quality heating and gas services every day. This is a role where your technical expertise, leadership skills and passion for customer service will genuinely make a difference.
What you'll be doing:
- Providing day-to-day leadership to a team of Gas Safe registered engineers, apprentices and trainees.
- Leading and motivating a high-performing gas servicing team.
- Carrying out site inspections, quality assessments and toolbox talks.
- Ensuring compliance with Gas Safety Regulations and health and safety standards.
- Managing workloads to deliver efficient, cost-effective services.
- Supporting engineer development through coaching, mentoring and performance management.
- Working closely with colleagues, contractors and stakeholders to ensure works are delivered on time and to a high standard.
- Championing excellent customer service and resident satisfaction.
- Promoting a strong safety culture across all aspects of the service.
What we're looking for:
We're keen to hear from candidates who can bring both strong technical knowledge and people leadership skills. You’ll likely have:
- Experience within gas servicing, maintenance or breakdown services in either the public or private sector.
- Experience supervising, leading or developing Gas Safe registered engineers.
- A solid understanding of Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations and wider health and safety legislation.
- The ability to motivate teams, manage performance and drive service improvements.
- Excellent communication and customer-focused skills.
- Current ACS qualifications and a full UK driving licence.
Most importantly, you'll be someone who takes pride in doing the right thing, supporting colleagues and delivering excellent outcomes for customers.
