Role Overview
The Senior Carer role is a feild based role, to support the Care Supervisors in care delivery. The role of a Senior carer is to support, train, mentor and supervise our home care assistants, alongside support with company audits and ensure the welfare of our clients.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Supervising Staff
To supervise a team of Home Care Assistants (HCA\'s), ensuring that they carry out their role in-line with agreed ways of working i.e. CQC Standards, policies and procedures, job description, support plans and individual risk assessments etc
To be aware of the tasks and activities which must NOT be undertaken as part of the Home Care Assistants duties
Support HCA\'s with introductory visits to new service users
Support HCA training and induction programmes as required
Facilitate field based HCA training
Provide mentorship to HCA\'s
Arrange and at times conduct HCA spot checks in the field as a measure of quality of care delivered
To ensure HCA\'s maintain accurate, concise and timely records of service user care
To participate in Staff, Team and Quality Management Review Meetings as directed by the Registered Manager
To cover care duties in the absence of HCA\'s under the direction of the Registered Manager
Service Users
Have good working knowledge of person-centred care, and be able to create strong working relationships with other care professionals around the individual
Developing / creating a good rapport, reassuring those who are new to receiving home care, and carefully listening to their personal needs
Acting as an ambassador of @PlymouthCare Ltd to service users, their families, other health care professionals and members of the public at all times
Advise individuals of the complaints procedures (where appropriate) and attempt to resolve complaints at the time if this is possible, reporting back to the Registered Manager
Other Key Responsibilities
Participate in the on-call rota supporting HCA\'s outside of core office hours.
Maintain confidentiality at all times
Participate in training / development opportunities
Participate in meetings as appropriate and attend regular supervision sessions
Any other duties reasonably falling within the scope of the post
Be committed and promote Premier Care\'s Diversity & Equality Policy and Procedures in relation to both service provision and employment issues

Pay: Β£13.15 per hour
