We are proud to be partnering with a well-established national equipment rental business as they expand their operational leadership team in their Worthing depot.

About the Role:
This is a hands-on leadership role, responsible for the day-to-day management of the depot workshop. Youll play a key part in ensuring the maintenance, repair, and inspection of a broad range of plant and tool equipment, while supervising a team of fitters and yard staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all workshop operations including tool and plant servicing, maintenance, repair, and inspection.
  • Supervise and lead workshop fitters and yard teams.
  • Ensure depot KPIs are met consistently and effectively.
  • Coordinate with the transport team to ensure plant availability for upcoming hires.
  • Ensure accurate stock control and conduct regular stock takes.
  • Identify and charge out customer damage from off-hired equipment.
  • Support repairs including electrical, hydraulic, diesel, and petrol systems.
  • Promote a strong health & safety culture within the depot.
  • Attend off-site breakdowns where required.
  • Manage service paperwork and ensure accurate record keeping.
  • Order parts through the internal purchasing system and coordinate warranty repairs with suppliers.
  • Participate in ongoing training programmes to enhance team capabilities.

About You:

  • Minimum 5 years\’ experience working with tools and powered access equipment.
  • Strong working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or foreman position within a workshop environment.
  • Organised, proactive, and able to work in a fast-paced depot setting.
  • Full UK driving licence.
