Part Time Day Position: Medical Records (Tuesday and Wednesday) & Receptionist (Thursday and Fridays)
Position Summary
We are seeking an energetic, self-motivated, multi-tasking individual to join us as a Receptionist. The Receptionist is responsible for providing reception and administrative services for the Skilled Nursing center. This position reports to the Business Office Manager and operates within established organizational and departmental policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Be the first impression for visitors at our reception desk.
- Have an outgoing personality, great customer service skills and a courteous attitude.
- Welcoming residents and visitors; be the central hub for the nurse call system.
- Answer phones and maintain awareness of general building security.
- Multi-task while providing personalized customer service to residents, families and medical professionals.
Medical Records Responsibilities
- Prepare admission records in conjunction with unit secretary.
- Performs assembly and analysis of discharged medical records.
- Responsible for thinning of active records on a regular basis. Maintains thinned medical record information in an organized and secure manner.
- Prepares records for offsite storage and maintains inventory log of stored records.
Qualifications and Skills
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent; Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Must possess patience and the ability to relate tactfully and professionally with all nursing staff members.
- Must be knowledgeable of administrative practices, procedures and policies.
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances arrant such action and to remain calm during emergency situations.
- Ability to complete assignments in a timely manner with minimal supervision.
- Must possess outstanding organizational skills.
- Ability to understand and operate mechanics of a multi-line telephone/paging system.
- Must have computer experience.
- Must be proficient in the English language, including grammatical usage.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office 365 and other software programs.
- Must be able to create spreadsheets and graphs.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Must pass CORI background check.
