Plymouth Community Homes (PCH) is one of the South West’s leading housing organisations and Plymouth’s largest social housing landlord, with more than 16,000 homes serving over 35,000 residents across Plymouth and the surrounding areas. Our mission is simple: we believe everyone has the right to a clean, comfortable, safe and secure affordable place to live. Guided by our values and social purpose, we are focused on providing outstanding services to residents, maintaining and improving our existing homes, growing our housing portfolio and ensuring that the resident voice remains at the heart of decision-making.

With a strong platform for future growth, PCH is well placed to expand its housing offer, support community regeneration and maximise its impact across the region, creating an exciting opportunity for a Chair who can help shape the next chapter of our success and growth. This is an outstanding opportunity to help shape the future of an ambitious, financially strong and community-focused organisation operating within an increasingly complex environment.

You will bring proven experience of chairing and a track record of providing strategic leadership at board or executive level. Whilst some experience in social housing would be welcomed, we are equally interested in candidates from other regulated sectors who understand the importance of strong governance, risk management, stakeholder engagement and long-term stewardship.

An inclusive and engaging leader, you will be skilled at creating an environment in which different perspectives are heard, constructive challenge is encouraged and collective decision-making thrives. You will have the judgement, credibility and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with board members, the executive team, residents, regulators and external partners. You will also play a key role in developing and sustaining a high-performing Board, ensuring it has the skills, diversity and capability required for the future.

If you identify with our vision and values and are excited by the opportunity to lead the Board of one of the region’s most important housing organisations, please click Apply to find out more. We believe that a fair, equitable, and inclusive culture goes a long way toward encouraging people to be the best they can be, and that starts with our Board. We welcome applications from suitably talented people from any community and background.
