Plymouth City Council is looking for a dedicated and motivated Waste & Cleansing Senior Operative to join our frontline Cleansing Team.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in their local environment, and has experience leading others in a practical operational setting. You'll play a key role in ensuring Plymouth's streets, highways, public spaces remain clean, safe and well-maintained for residents and visitors alike.
As a Waste & Cleansing Senior Operative, you will support the Team Leader by directing and coordinating the daily activities of Operatives, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with legislation, Council procedures and customer care standards.
You will play a key role in leading and supporting the Cleansing Team to deliver high-quality cleansing services within the City Centre and surrounding areas. You will operate and maintain specialist cleansing equipment and vehicles; complete vehicle checks and operational documentation and help resolve operational and health and safety issues while representing Plymouth City Council professionally at all times.
If you have a Full UK Driving Licence, experience of supervising and you're passionate about maintaining high standards, leading by example, and helping keep Plymouth clean and safe, we'd love to hear from you.
