We\βre seeking an exceptional strategic leader for an exciting interim opportunity to drive one of the UK\βs most exciting defence-led growth programmes. The initial interim period will be 6 months.
Team Plymouth is a unique partnership between Plymouth City Council, the Ministry of Defence, HM Government and Babcock International, maximising the economic and social impact of long-term defence investment in our city and region. As our Service Director, you\βll be the Council\βs lead representative, ensuring clear governance, strong delivery and a bold vision that creates jobs, improves skills, supports innovation and strengthens national defence capability.
You Will
- Shape and lead Team Plymouth\βs strategic direction and governance
- Work collaboratively across government, industry and the Council
- Drive major programmes spanning employment, infrastructure, regeneration, skills and innovation
- Champion Plymouth nationally to secure further investment and opportunities
- Lead matrix-managed teams and manage significant resources effectively
We\βre looking for a credible, senior leader with proven success in major partnerships, economic growth or public-private delivery; and someone who can influence, innovate and deliver real outcomes for Plymouth\βs communities and businesses. Political awareness, excellent relationship-building and a system-leadership mindset are essential.
