Plymouth City Council Local Authority Building Control (LABC) is looking for an exceptional Principal Registered Building Inspector to play a leading role in shaping one of the South West’s most dynamic cities. We’re keen to build the capability and capacity across the service to embrace the changes and challenges ahead. What You’ll Be Doing
- Registered with the BSR at Class 2E, as a minimum, and actively maintaining competency standards
- Leading inspections across domestic and commercial projects to ensure full compliance with Building Regulations
- Overseeing applications and delivering timely, high‑quality regulatory decisions
- Responding to dangerous structures and providing critical on‑site expertise
- Collaborating with internal teams and external partners to support successful project delivery
- Contributing to the evolution of building control policies and best practices
- Mentoring and developing junior team members, setting the standard through your leadership
