Are you an experienced senior commissioner looking for your next challenge? We are looking for a dynamic leader to join our service as Head of Commissioning as we continue to grow, develop and embed our future commissioning plans.

Strategic Commissioning is key to supporting and leading change, and the Adults, Health and Communities Directorate is looking for a Head of Commissioning to drive forward our commissioning priorities and projects for the city’s children, young people and adults. Reporting to the Service Director for Integrated Commissioning, you will lead the strategic planning of commissioning programmes across the directorate.

An experienced manager, you will have demonstrable experience of leading commissioning projects for children, young people and adults, a passion for research and innovation in service delivery, as well as knowledge of the external provider market including the challenges and opportunities for social care and health. You will work closely with the Head of Innovation and Delivery to develop and plan key commissioning change programmes across our all-age commissioning service and harness the power of data and insight to support and shape our services.

You will be experienced in building and maintaining constructive relationships with stakeholders and partners including other local authorities, health partners and elected members, as well as our commissioned providers across the city. You will have a core focus on making sure we listen to and act on the voices of those with lived experience who draw on care and support.
