Join our Community Empowerment Team as our new Engagement and Consultation Advisor! Are you passionate about working within communities to facilitate a stronger voice in local decision making? Do you highly value meaningful conversations and relationships, learning through insight, driving change, and making public services more transparent and inclusive?

We’re looking for a dynamic, creative, and values‑led individual to join Plymouth City Council’s Community Empowerment Team, a caring and outward looking team that aims to support thriving and inclusive communities across the city. As our new Engagement and Consultation Advisor, you’ll lead the work to embed our refreshed Engagement and Consultation Framework, be a skilled and knowledgeable expert on good consultation, champion inclusive practices, and help design the Big Community Conversation – a rolling programme of listening, learning, and action.

This is your chance to shape how Plymouth listens to its residents. Build staff confidence and capability through training and peer learning. Provide expert advice on complex and sensitive consultations. Drive transparency and trust through innovative engagement tools and reporting.

We are a flexible employer and provide a variety of working arrangements tailored to the needs of each role. This is a 2‑year FTC ready to start as soon as possible after 1st April 2026.
