Position: Full time / Apprenticeship (15–18 months)
Are you creative, digitally minded, and passionate about telling stories through content? On Course South West (OCSW), part of Plymouth City Council, is looking for an enthusiastic and creative Creative Content Apprentice (Level 3) to join our Marketing Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in digital marketing, social media, and content creation while working towards a nationally recognised qualification. You will play a key role in supporting OCSW’s digital engagement, helping to promote our courses, apprenticeships, community offer, and learner success stories across a range of online platforms.
The Role
As a Creative Content Apprentice, you will support the planning, production, and delivery of engaging digital content across multiple marketing channels. Working closely with the Marketing Team, you will help strengthen our online presence, support learner recruitment, and contribute to the ongoing development of the OCSW brand.
Key Areas Of Work Include:
- Assisting with the planning, design, and creation of engaging digital content aligned to the OCSW brand.
- Creating graphics, short‑form videos, and written content for use across social media and digital campaigns.
- Capturing photos and videos of learner activity, events, and courses for marketing purposes.
- Supporting the development and maintenance of content calendars and campaign schedules.
- Publishing content across platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok.
- Monitoring engagement, reach, and basic analytics to support continuous improvement.
- Assisting with responding to comments and messages where appropriate, in line with brand guidelines.
- Supporting newsletters, website updates, and basic content editing tasks.
- Assisting with the creation of learner case studies, success stories, and employer features.
- Helping prepare marketing materials for events, campaigns, and community outreach activities.
What We’re Looking For:
Knowledge, Experience & Skills:
- A strong interest in digital content creation, social media, and marketing.
- Creative flair with an eye for detail, branding, and visual presentation.
- Good written communication skills and the ability to adapt tone for different audiences.
- GCSE Maths and English at Grade A*–C / 9–4 (or equivalent), or willingness to work towards these alongside the apprenticeship.
- Confidence using digital tools and platforms, such as social media, basic design software, and content management systems (training will be provided).
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a small team.
- A proactive, enthusiastic approach and willingness to learn new digital skills.
- Previous experience in content creation or marketing is desirable but not essential.
