Play a key part in opening specialist Children’s Homes in Plymouth where just 2‑3 children live in a family‑style setting. Work closely with the Manager to provide highly personalised, high‑quality care to young people aged 11‑18. Supervise and guide staff, ensuring appropriate care and stimulating activities are delivered in a strengths‑based, trauma‑informed way. Monitor and audit daily reports, and help the team work a collaborative, values‑led culture that drives innovation, consistency and quality across services.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Hold a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare and be able to work towards a Level 5 Diploma within 2 years of appointment – the Council will pay for and support this training.
  • Demonstrate managerial skills and experience of working with children and young people in similar settings.
  • Experience of leadership and management training is desirable.
