Plymouth City Council's Bereavement Service are looking for someone who cares about people and wants to help us strengthen the way we connect with our community. In this role, you’ll work closely with the management team to further shape how the Bereavement Service communicates with families, partners, and the wider public — from continually developing our website to strengthening our social media presence.
Your role will be central in offering kind, reassuring support to families as they make arrangements for their loved one’s Wake. You will also guide them gently through the memorial options, helping them choose something meaningful that reflects and honours their loved one’s memory. You’ll also play a key part in developing new business opportunities that help us grow sustainably. Your ideas and initiatives will help us to continue to develop our services and deliver a more positive, responsive experience for those who use them.
What You’ll Do
- Support continuous improvement in service quality and customer satisfaction
- Help us communicate clearly, compassionately, and effectively across all channels.
- Build meaningful relationships with stakeholders inside and outside the organisation.
- Deliver a programme of high-impact community engagement events
- Lead the development of digital platforms, including our website and social media.
- Explore and grow revenue-generating opportunities.
We are a flexible employer and provide a variety of working arrangements tailored to the needs of each role. The role will be based at Plymouth City Council’s Crematorium, The Park, which is located at Merafield Road, Plymouth.
