Then why not join the Facilities Management team at Plymouth City Council. Council employees and our partners work across various buildings across the city. The cleaning team is responsible for the cleaning of these buildings and works to the highest standards to ensure that our buildings are clean, secure, and safe for staff, partners, and everyone.
As an Assistant Facilities Supervisor you will be responsible for supervising a small team of site‑based cleaners, including allocation of work, supporting them in their roles, and ensuring that standards are maintained. You will also undertake inspections of the workplace and have performance discussions with your team. The supervision element of the role will be in addition to undertaking the cleaning of multiple premises within the city. This will include a variety of tasks such as mopping, toilet cleaning, washing walls/glass, vacuuming, emptying bins and dusting. You may be required to open and close buildings depending on the site you are working on or supporting. You will also be expected to report and escalate building defects to enable a resolution to be found.
This role is physically challenging and involves manual handling activities. You will be allocated a group of buildings and will support the team that works at them. You will be expected to support the other Assistant Supervisors and work across alternative buildings when required. This will be discussed at interview. Cleaning hours range between 06:00 and 20:00, Monday to Saturday depending on the buildings you work at. Working arrangements can be discussed at interview.
