We are seeking an experienced and motivated Business Manager to support the Plymouth Safeguarding Adults Partnership Board (PSAP). This is a pivotal role ensuring that the partnership delivers its statutory duties effectively and promotes best practice in safeguarding adults across the city.

As Business Manager, You Will:

  • Provide strategic and operational support to the PSAP, coordinating partnership activity and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Lead on business planning, performance monitoring, and reporting to the Board and sub-groups.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with the Independent Chair/Vice chair.
  • Manage key projects that strengthen safeguarding arrangements and improve outcomes for adults at risk.
  • Act as the central point of contact for partners, stakeholders, and the public, ensuring clear communication and engagement.
  • Have responsibilities for business unit staffing and budget management.
  • Collaborate with other statutory partnerships locally, regionally with other SAB Business Managers and actively participate in the SAB Business Managers National Network.

You Will Have:

  • Strong knowledge of adult safeguarding legislation, policy and practice.
  • Sound knowledge to lead anti-discriminatory, equality, diversity and inclusion practice.
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Proven experience of working in a multi-agency environment, building effective partnerships and ability to work within a politically sensitive environment.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to produce high-quality reports and presentations.
  • Experience of creating a system culture that promotes learning and reflection.
  • Experience of identification and management of adult safeguarding system risks.
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the wider safeguarding agenda.
  • Knowledge of budget planning, setting and monitoring.
  • A degree level or equivalent qualification in a related adult safeguarding focused field e.g. Social Work, Health, Police, Probation.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference safeguarding people in Plymouth. You will work with committed professionals across partner agencies in the voluntary community and social enterprise sector, police, health and social care to drive improvements and innovation.
