The Role
Assistant Lawyer within the Commercial team of Legal Services
We have an exciting opportunity to gain experience across a variety of legal work for an enthusiastic newly qualified solicitor, barrister with practising certificate or CILEX Fellow who has experience of working within a legal practice to join the Council’s Commercial team as an Assistant Lawyer.
What will you do?
You will be working across all areas within the Commercial team. This includes property, planning, highways and contracts. You will have your own caseload and may also assist Lawyers on larger projects.
You will be undertaking legal research and providing legal advice across all areas dealt with by the team but will likely be working predominantly in the areas of planning/highways and property.
You will be drafting bespoke legal agreements which may include both planning and highway agreements and dealing with both general commercial conveyancing and landlord and tenant matters in the Property team.
What will you bring?
To be successful you must be a qualified solicitor, barrister with practising certificate or a CILEX Fellow. You will be a “team player” and have a pro-active can-do attitude.
The role requires a person with enthusiasm, commitment and motivation to deliver an excellent service.
