  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Experienced in office procedures.
  • Ability to organize work and projects.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently without direct supervision.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Gmail, Google Drive/Docs, and Mi Star.
  • Ability to maintain student, staff, law enforcement, and public relations.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills including document and letter preparation.
  • Ability to set, manage, and coordinate multiple priorities.
  • Past attendance and job performance records must be satisfactory to administration.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supports the ASD program Office and the Post-secondary program office.
  • Provides secretarial support to Special Education Supervisor and special education department team
  • Receives, assists, and processes telephone and electronic inquiries.
  • Assists in developing, preparing, and disseminating written and electronic documents.
  • Supports and monitors staff absences by proactively securing substitutes.
  • Assumes responsibility for tracking budget line items.
  • Monitors inventory and places orders for various supplies and equipment as needed for the department.
  • Types requisitions, check requests, and initiates purchase orders.
  • Provides reports such as student caseloads, ESY lists, Inventories, etc.
  • Bending, lifting, and overhead work required.
  • Performs other tasks as directed by immediate supervisor.

EVALUATION

Performance of this position will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board's Policy on Evaluation of Classified Personnel.

Occasionally the employee will bend or twist at the neck more than the average person.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally push or lift up to 50 lbs such as boxes of books.

The employee is directly responsible for safety, well-being, or work output of other people.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as to read handwritten or typed material, and the ability to adjust focus.
