Hours: 3.00pm to 6.00pm Monday to Friday
Contract: Temp, Term-time only
We are recruiting on behalf of our client who is looking for an After School Club Playworker for their primary school in Dagenham. This role will be providing support and a safe environment for children between 5 and 10 years old.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide a safe, stimulating, and happy environment for pupils
- Supervise pupils, including arrival and departure and visits to the toilet
- Set up playrooms and ensure that the setting is left clean and tidy at the end of each session
- Contribute to planning and the provision of a stimulating range of age-appropriate activities
- Log pupils' time of collection and name of the collector
- Log all incidents of danger and accidents
- Ensure no pupils are left unsupervised at any time
- Ensure that the children receive adequate refreshments, and help promote healthy eating
- Supervise and assist pupils with activities throughout their session
- Cover colleagues' working hours in times of emergency/sickness
- Assist with any reasonable request from the Breakfast & After School Clubs Manager
Qualifications & Experience:
- Experience working with young children
- Childcare qualification Level 2/3 or above in Childcare desirable but not essential
- Personal warmth to gain the confidence of pupils, staff, and parents
- Good positive rapport with pupils
- High standards of personal presence and presentation and attention to detail
- Ability to communicate concisely and sensitively with children and parents
- Commitment to the personal development of pupils and to an ethos of respect for each other
- Proven ability to develop effective professional relationships with pupils, colleagues, and parents
- The ability to work co-operatively within a team
- Organised, energetic and able to self-direct
