Our client is a fast-growth e-commerce business, who are scaling rapidly and now looking to recruit a full-time Logistics Manager. The successful candidate will take full responsibility for the company's logistics operation and also the internal customer services team. We are therefore seeking applications from people who are used to a broad, operational responsibility, managing the customer supply experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a logistics strategy that supports the business growth and operational objectives.
- Oversee daily logistics operations, including warehousing, inventory management, distribution, warehouse/pick face organisation along with PCA50, Ave call length, Avg answer time, Qty and value of refunds etc.
- Manage and optimise relationships with third-party logistics (3PL) providers and courier partners.
- Implement robust processes to enhance delivery performance and reduce operational costs.
- Ensure full compliance with GDP (Good Distribution Practice), GPHC guidelines, and other regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and analyse logistics and Customer Service KPIs to drive efficiency and service excellence.
- Identify and implement innovative technologies and best practices to enhance logistics operations.
- Collaborate with internal teams (procurement, IT, and finance) to improve supply chain efficiency.
- Define and then lead, develop, and mentor a high-performing logistics and CS team.
- Manage budgets and forecast future requirements to support business growth.
- Handle risk management and contingency planning to mitigate potential disruptions.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Proven experience in a logistics, supply chain or operations management role, within a fast-paced, FMCG environment. Ideally B2C rather than B2B.
- Strong leadership skills with experience in managing customer service and operation teams and third-party providers.
- Excellent knowledge of distribution networks, courier services, and supply chain management.
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS), logistics and Customer Service software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven attention to detail approach with the ability to manipulate data within Excel.
- Ability to drive continuous improvement and implement strategic logistics initiatives.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Commercial acumen with experience in negotiating costs with suppliers of services, equipment and packaging to ensure budget is managed fully and cost optimisation.
- Strong people management skills with the ability to coach, mentor, and develop team members to achieve their full potential.
- Run disciplinary’s, grievance, investigations in conjunction with HR support and train these skills out.
