Your role

Our UK Finished Vehicle Logistics team has an exciting opportunity for a Head of Business Development where you will lead a team of sales professionals focused on identifying, qualifying and closing new and existing business opportunities related to selling FVL products to our customers, building profitability and recurring revenue streams. This pivotal role will be responsible for achieving in-country growth targets across our FVL products, aligning in-country objectives with global strategies, and collaborating regularly with operational and product leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of practiced sales professionals to implement a culture of high performance, engagement and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with FVL product and regional business development leaders to ensure strategy alignment, execution and success; define targets and pursue new business with prospects and existing customers.
  • Analyze market dynamics, challenges and competitor actions to keep our offer competitive and attractive to customers.
  • Manage a pipeline with a focus on hunting new business wins with SME and large accounts; ensure in-country and regional collaboration, considering client requirements and operational capabilities.
  • Be the voice of the customer when liaising with operational teams; act as point of escalation to resolve critical issues, mitigate risks and drive future opportunities.

What are we looking for?

The successful applicant will lead our sales initiatives with product leaders and regional heads across FVL. You should be an expert in leading business development strategies and teams within an Automotive or Finished Vehicle Logistics context, with experience defining, leading and deploying sales strategies focused on both new business and existing client portfolios.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Significant sales experience, operating at a senior level.
  • Network of clients and contacts within the industry.
  • Experience in sales mapping and strategy building.
  • Strong commercial, decision-making and business acumen skills.
  • Natural negotiation, influencing and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership with the ability to build strategic partnerships.
  • Experience in working in a global/regional matrixed organisation.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.

This role can be based in any of our FVL operations; we are open to accepting applications in either Upper Heyford or Chipping Warden. The role offers a competitive salary, company car or car allowance, bonus, private medical and additional benefits.
