The Role:
We are seeking a Child Protection and Safeguarding Manager to work 3 days per week, sharing the role with a colleague who works 2 days per week. You will support the Leadership team to provide a safe environment in which students can develop and learn. You will take the day to day 'lead' on safeguarding issues within the school, working closely with the Designated Safeguarding Lead Coordinator. You will maintain accurate, confidential and up to date documentation on all cases of safeguarding and child protection and attend relevant meetings as required. An important part of your role will be to carry out duties as the school's 'lead professional' in cases where the school initiates a MASH referral. The role also includes maintaining the register of Young Carers and maintaining a register of students who are 'At Risk'.
We are looking for:
- Knowledge of best practice in pastoral care and safeguarding.
- Knowledge of current educational issues.
- Experience of working with vulnerable children/young people in an education, social work or youth setting.
- Experience of working with young people who are distressed or displaying antisocial behaviour.
- At least 5 years successful experience in an administrative role.
- Qualification at degree level or equivalent.
- Good skills in information management and IT.
