About The Role:
We have an exciting opportunity for an Art and Design Technology Technician to join our dedicated Art, Design and Technology team. You will be responsible for the day to day provision of technical support to the Art and DT Departments. This will involve:
- Maintaining equipment, tools, components and accessories and reporting any faults.
- Preparing a range of materials for teaching purposes including paper, pencils, wood, metal, plastic, food and textiles.
- Preparing, setting up and checking machinery, equipment and apparatus for lessons including exams and assessments. This includes constructing teaching aids using basic workshop skills.
- Issuing equipment to staff and pupils and maintaining appropriate records.
- Ordering materials and operating systems of stock control.
- Providing technical advice and assistance to teaching staff and pupils within the curriculum area including support for learning.
- Maintaining satisfactory standards of safety and security ensuring Health and Safety at work legislation is followed.
About You:
To be successful you will need:
- Appropriate qualifications in Art, Design and photography. (GCSE/A level /ONC, City & Guilds, BTEC)
- Broad based technical knowledge and skills.
- The ability to work as part of a team.
- Experience in a school or educational establishment is desirable.
