Payroll Administrator
Location: Reading Type: Full Time, Permanent
A prestigious accountancy practice in Reading is seeking a dedicated Payroll Administrator to join its expanding team. The successful candidate will become part of a firm that values professional growth and provides services to a diverse range of clients, from SMEs to larger international companies.
Role OverviewThe Payroll Administrator will manage end-to-end payroll processes for a portfolio of clients. This includes weekly, monthly, and annual payrolls, statutory calculations, RTI submissions, and year-end procedures. Responsibilities also encompass processing starters, leavers, amendments to salaries, and employee data, as well as resolving day-to-day queries and liaising with clients to gather necessary information.
Key tasks
Calculating and checking payrolls for client approval.
Reconciling payrolls to ensure accuracy.
Providing approval and post-payroll reports to clients.
Managing autoāenrolment optāins and optāouts.
Addressing payroll queries from clients and employees.
Liaising with HMRC and handling related queries.
Maintaining an upātoādate and accurate payroll database.
Issuing P45s and completing electronic filing.
Candidate Requirements
Previous payroll experience, ideally within a practice or payroll bureau environment.
A CIPP qualification is preferred but not essential.
A solid understanding of statutory payroll requirements (SSP, SMP, SPP, PAYE & NI).
High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
Strong IT skills, particularly MS Office; experience with IRIS Payroll Professional is advantageous (training provided).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
