On behalf of a Group of property companies, we are recruiting for a Part Time Finance Manager to work three or four days per week, to be based in Central London. The Group has both commercial and residential properties and this stand-alone role will service the needs of the Group and non-group related companies.

About the Role

We must stress that the successful candidate will be ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified with previous experience of working within the property sector. Additionally, being able to take on the full scope of duties including payroll and statutory accounts would be preferable. The role will likely require three to four days per week and will be office based.

Responsibilities

  • Bookkeeping – weekly bank reconciliations and payments – currently maintained on Sage
  • VAT – three group companies are registered for VAT – prepare quarterly VAT returns
  • Management Accounting – quarterly consolidated P&L and cashflow to prepare using Excel and macros, comparisons and material variances to be explained
  • Covenant Compliance Reporting – quarterly reports and one annual monitoring report
  • Annual Accounts – prepare statutory draft accounts and liaise with auditors
  • Statutory Records – maintain records for UK group companies, file annual confirmation statements for all group companies
  • Payroll – two group companies have payrolls, monthly payroll processing, workplace pension and benefits in kind
  • Board – attend and present finance meetings

The group comprises a UK holding company, an intermediate holding company, one residential and three commercial property companies, and a non-property related company. Additionally, there are non-group companies and a family estate that may require assistance in due course.

Qualifications

  • Be a qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA accountant (other relevant qualifications may be considered)
  • Have extensive experience in a similar role, with property and service charge accounts experience

Required Skills

  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong IT skills and be conversant with accounting software, ideally Sage
