At Plumpton College, based in the heart of the South Downs National Park, we are looking for an Environmental Studies Lecturer to join our Agriculture & Environment team. This is a fantastic opportunity to bring your teaching expertise into a dynamic land and environmental education setting and help shape the future workforce.

You will teach on Level 2 and Level 3 Agriculture and Environment programmes, supporting learners to develop the skills, knowledge and confidence they need to progress. We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas:

  • Fisheries management
  • Aquaculture
  • Aquatic science
  • Aquatic ecology
  • Fish health and welfare

This role could suit an experienced teacher from a secondary or further education background, especially someone with a passion for environmental studies, applied learning and student progression.

What you’ll do:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment
  • Support student progress, retention and positive destinations
  • Contribute to a culture of high standards, inclusion and safeguarding
  • Work with colleagues, employers and stakeholders to strengthen provision

What we’re looking for:

  • Strong teaching experience and a track record of effective classroom practice
  • A degree or professional qualification in a relevant land-based subject
  • Specialist subject knowledge in environmental or land-based disciplines
  • A genuine commitment to learner success, inclusion and wellbeing

There is also the opportunity to take on an additional Cohort Lead responsibility for one year, attracting an extra £1,500 pro rata.
