This is a fixed-term maternity cover role. It is initially offered as a 10-month fixed-term contract starting on 1 September 2026, with the possibility of an extension to 12 months depending on when the postholder returns. We will only consider applicants who are currently based in London. We have flexible working hours and work together from our London Bridge office on at least 2 fixed days per week.

We are looking for a Head of Operations to join us on a maternity cover basis. This is a broad, high-ownership role reporting to the CEO, with responsibility for ensuring operations are consistently managed and continuously improved as the company and team scales - without any one else having to think about it. You’ll oversee operations across our London and Amsterdam locations, covering day-to-day company operations, cash flow management, supplier management, team operations, data projects, compliance, and investor relations.

This is an ideal role for a self-starter who is energised by variety, comfortable with ambiguity and is able to switch confidently between very different tasks in the same day.

What you will be doing:

  • Building and improving the systems and processes that keep the company running smoothly, from quick fixes to longer-term projects.
  • Managing cash flow, supporting financial operations and reviewing our banking and treasury positions.
  • Owning relationships and communication with key suppliers, managing operational contracts and supporting customer accounts.
  • Running day-to-day people operations, including on-boarding.
  • Managing data projects for the AI team, from set-up through to delivery.
  • Supporting the CEO with investor relations.
  • Keeping company policies and compliance up to date while ensuring documentation and reporting remain on track.

What you need:

  • Solid experience in an operations, business management, consulting, or similar role.
  • Ideally you will have worked at a fast-growing technology start-up or scale-up.
  • The majority of the financial responsibilities usually associated with this role will be outsourced to our accountants for the duration of the contract, but you will still need to be comfortable with reading and working with financial statements.
  • A good working knowledge of spreadsheets.
  • Strong organisational skills and a high level of attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence maintaining relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.

Nice to have:

  • Experience managing finances for a start-up or scale-up, or other relevant finance experience/proficiency.
  • A working knowledge of Xero accounting software is a plus.
  • An interest in AI.

What we offer:

  • Competitive salary.
  • 25 days of paid vacation time in addition to bank holidays (pro-rated for the contract term).
  • A broad, high-ownership role at the heart of a fast-growing company.
