Plumbingforce have a full-time vacancy for Domestic Gas Engineer/Plumber covering Peterborough & surrounding area for plumbing and gas heating engineers. Engineers will be expected to travel up to 1 hour to a lead or job, or approximately 30 miles, depending on whether the area is rural or urban and weather conditions.

Plumbing & Gas Engineering Services

  • Gas Boiler Services: Perform gas boiler breakdowns, fault finding, servicing, repairs and general maintenance.
  • Gas Safety Checks: Conduct landlord gas safety checks and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Emergency Response: Respond to emergency water and gas leaks, providing prompt and effective solutions.
  • General Plumbing: Address a variety of general gas heating and plumbing issues, with a focus on repairs and maintenance.
  • Customer Service: Deliver excellent service, ensuring customer satisfaction with quality workmanship.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all work meets manufacturer’s instructions (MI's) and current regulations, including handling unsafe situations in accordance with AR/ID procedures.
  • Installation Work: Occasionally perform installation work, though the majority of tasks (95%) will involve repairs and maintenance.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in domestic boiler breakdowns and fault finding.
  • Certifications: Must hold valid gas qualifications (e.g. ACS, CCN1, CENWAT, CPA1, etc.).
  • Insurance: Must have own public liability insurance.
  • Tools: Must possess own tools, including hand tools, drills, and a calibrated analyser.
  • Driving License: Valid UK driving license required.
  • Phone: Must use own phone for work purposes.
  • Attitude: Demonstrated "can do" attitude, with a commitment to working with honesty and integrity.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of unsafe situations procedures and the ability to correctly follow protocol when encountering AR/ID situations.
