The electrical industry is changing. Be part of it. Solar PV, battery storage, EV charging, and heat pumps are rapidly becoming the new standard in UK homes, and we’re looking for an electrician who wants to build a long-term career in one of the fastest-growing areas of the industry.

At Plumbing & Renewables Ltd, we don’t expect you to arrive with every renewable qualification already under your belt. If you’re a qualified electrician with a solid domestic background and the right attitude, we’ll invest in your future by providing the training, qualifications, and hands-on experience to become a specialist in renewable energy systems. This isn’t just another electrical job; it’s an opportunity to future-proof your career.

About Us: We’ve been installing renewable energy systems for over 15 years and have built a reputation for delivering high-quality work across Moray, Aberdeenshire, and the Highlands. Our team installs air source heat pumps, solar PV, battery storage, EV chargers, and energy-efficient heating systems for homeowners who are making the move towards lower-carbon living. We’re proud of our reputation for quality, professionalism, and looking after both our customers and our team.

What You’ll Be Doing: You’ll work alongside our experienced renewable installation teams on a wide variety of domestic projects, including:

  • Installing electrical systems for air source heat pumps
  • Installing solar PV and battery storage systems
  • Installing EV charging points
  • Consumer unit upgrades and new circuits
  • Electrical testing and commissioning
  • Fault finding and diagnostics
  • Working closely with our plumbing and heating engineers to deliver complete renewable energy systems

No two days are the same, and every installation plays a part in helping customers reduce their energy bills and carbon emissions.

We’ll Invest in Your Future: We believe good electricians become great renewable engineers through proper training, mentoring, and experience. That’s why we’ll fund recognised qualifications and provide ongoing development, including:

  • Battery storage systems
  • EV charging inspection & testing (EICR)
  • Renewable energy technologies
  • Ongoing technical development as the industry evolves

You’ll work alongside experienced engineers while developing skills that are becoming increasingly valuable across the electrical industry.

Who We’re Looking For:

  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
  • Experience in domestic electrical installations
  • Full UK driving licence
  • A professional, customer-focused attitude
  • Pride in producing neat, high-quality work
  • A willingness to learn and develop

Desirable (but not essential):

  • Battery storage experience
  • EV charger installations
  • Experience working with renewable technologies

If you haven’t worked in renewables before, that’s absolutely fine. We’re looking for the right person—we’ll help you develop the specialist skills.

You’ll Fit In Well If You:

  • Enjoy learning new skills
  • Like solving problems and working with modern technology
  • Take pride in doing a job properly
  • Enjoy working as part of a supportive team
  • Want a career with genuine progression rather than doing the same work every day

What We Offer:

  • Salary of £38,000–£48,000 depending on experience
  • Company van, fuel card, and tools
  • 32 days holiday, including bank holidays
  • Private medical cover
  • Family-friendly policies that recognise life outside work
  • Fully funded training and qualifications
  • Stable, well-planned work with no constant firefighting
  • Opportunities to develop into a senior or specialist renewable engineering role
  • A supportive team that enjoys doing quality work and helping each other succeed

Why Join Plumbing & Renewables? Renewables aren’t the future—they’re happening now. The demand for skilled renewable electricians continues to grow, and engineers with the right skills will be in demand for years to come. At Plumbing & Renewables Ltd, we’ll give you the opportunity to build those skills while working as part of a friendly, experienced team that genuinely cares about quality, customer service, and continuous improvement. If you’re looking for more than just another electrician's job and want to build a career in an industry that’s only going one way, we’d love to hear from you.
