The Opportunity

We are looking for a qualified electrician, ideally in the early stages of their career, who is keen to develop specialist skills and build a long-term career in renewable energy. You will already be a competent electrician, capable of carrying out electrical installation work independently. What you don’t need is previous experience in renewables.

We will invest in your development, providing specialist training and qualifications in solar PV, battery storage, air source heat pumps and EV charging. This is an opportunity to build on your existing electrical skills, gain valuable specialist qualifications and become an experienced renewable energy electrician, working with an established and supportive team.

The Role

You will carry out electrical installation work across our renewable energy projects, including:

  • Battery storage systems
  • EV charging systems

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out electrical installation work independently, within your competence.
  • Reading and working from electrical drawings and installation specifications.
  • Planning and organising your work, including identifying materials and equipment required.
  • Working alongside our heating engineers and installation teams to deliver high-quality installations.
  • Undertaking electrical testing, commissioning and certification appropriate to your qualifications and competence.
  • Completing installation documentation accurately and promptly.
  • Maintaining high standards of workmanship, safety and professionalism.
  • Developing your technical skills through specialist training and practical experience.

You will be supported by our Technical Manager, Installation Manager and experienced installation teams as you develop your knowledge of renewable energy technologies.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Fully qualified electrician, having completed a recognised electrical apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
  • Competent in carrying out electrical installation work independently.
  • Good understanding of current electrical regulations and safe working practices.
  • Ability to read electrical drawings and specifications.
  • Good practical installation and problem-solving skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Enthusiasm for learning new technologies and developing specialist skills.

Desirable but not essential:

  • Experience in domestic electrical installations.
  • Inspection and testing qualifications.
  • Any previous experience with solar PV, battery storage, heat pumps or EV charging.

We particularly welcome applications from recently qualified electricians and those in the early stages of their careers. Previous renewable energy experience is not required. We will provide the specialist training and qualifications.

The Person We’re Looking For

We place considerable importance on attitude, aptitude and willingness to learn. We are looking for someone who:

  • Takes pride in neat, high-quality electrical work.
  • Is reliable, organised and takes responsibility for their work.
  • Is confident working independently but knows when to ask for guidance.
  • Has a positive, practical approach to solving problems.
  • Pays attention to detail and cares about getting things right.
  • Works well with colleagues and other trades.
  • Is enthusiastic about learning and developing their career.
  • Wants to become a highly skilled renewable energy electrician.

We believe in investing in our people and developing skills for the future. You will have the opportunity to gain specialist qualifications and practical experience in:

  • Solar PV installation and commissioning
  • Battery energy storage systems
  • Air source heat pump electrical systems
  • Electrical inspection, testing and certification
  • Manufacturer-specific technical training

Training will be funded by the company and supported by practical experience alongside our established technical and installation teams. As your skills and experience develop, there will be opportunities to take on more complex installations, additional technical responsibilities and progress into a senior position.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary of £36,000–£42,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
  • Excellent work-life balance: 40-hour working week, Monday to Friday, with no routine evening or weekend working.
  • 32 days’ annual leave.
  • Private medical insurance.
  • Generous sick pay, with additional long-term income protection.
  • Company-funded specialist training and qualifications in renewable energy technologies.
  • Clear opportunities for career progression as your technical knowledge and experience develop.
