We’re hiring a Trade Counter Sales Advisor at Plumbase Charlton – someone who knows their stock, their customers, and how to deliver excellent service in a fast-paced merchant environment. You’ll handle everything from quoting and upselling to re‑engaging lower‑spend accounts and making sure the counter runs smoothly.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Serving trade and cash customers on the counter
  • Building quotes and providing technical product advice
  • Supporting trade account management and re‑engagement
  • Maintaining the shop floor and stock areas
  • Helping with local pricing, displays, and ordering
  • Picking and packing orders for customer deliveries
  • Creating great relationships with loyal, repeat customers
  • Contacting and attracting new business to the store

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in a plumbing & heating, DIY, or builders' merchant environment
  • Strong customer‑facing skills and confident communication
  • Comfortable managing pricing, ordering, and in‑store decision‑making
  • Team‑first approach and pride in a tidy, efficient counter
  • Full UK driving licence
