About Us
At Plumbase, we are part of the largest independent networks of plumbing and heating merchants in the UK - over 320 sites nationwide. Our sites are run by people who know their customers, their stock, and their local market. That’s because we give them autonomy and ownership - not a one‑size‑fits‑all script.
Job Overview
We’re looking for someone who can run this showroom with energy, initiative, and a commercial eye to join our Plumbase showroom in Sidcup - someone who understands that good design matters, but great relationships and follow‑through are what drive results. You’ll guide customers through their journey from first enquiry to final order, while also taking a proactive role in building relationships with local installers, developing repeat business, and keeping the showroom front‑of‑mind with both trade and retail customers. You’ll have the freedom to shape your space, tailor your approach, and trade in a way that works for your local market. If you’ve got a background in showrooms and you enjoy the buzz of helping people make decisions and getting deals over the line, then this is a great opportunity to build something that’s truly yours.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Running day‑to‑day operations of the bathroom showroom
- Leading and coaching Business Development Managers / Bathroom Designers to drive sales and service
- Developing trade and retail customer relationships
- Owning local marketing and driving repeat business
- Maintaining a showroom that inspires – layout, merchandising, displays
- Supporting customers with design advice and product recommendations
- Using commercial data to steer performance
- Working closely with trade installers and the wider site team
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in a bathroom, kitchen, interiors, or design showroom
- People leadership or team supervision experience (preferable)
- Sales focused with good commercial acumen including margin management, supplier relationships and stock management
- Strong customer focus and excellent communication skills
- Creative flair and interest in home design
- CAD experience (e.g. Virtual Worlds) is a bonus, not essential
- Full UK driving license
What You’ll Get
- Full autonomy to run your own showroom
- Supportive environment with real decision‑making power
- Career progression across a national independent merchant network
- Trusted, respected employer in the trade and retail space
