Permanent position in Leicester with a salary of up to £33,000 pa. Full-time hours are Monday to Friday.

We are looking for a Lab Technician to join a well-established manufacturing business in Leicester. This opportunity offers the chance to work within a specialist team responsible for developing and producing high-quality paints and coatings.

As a Lab Technician, you will play an important role in the creation, formulation, and testing of paint products, ensuring each batch is mixed accurately and meets the required quality standards. You will follow detailed formulations, measure raw materials, and monitor the production process to ensure consistency and reliability across all batches.

This position would suit someone who enjoys a hands-on role, takes pride in accuracy and quality, and has experience working in a manufacturing or lab environment. You will work closely with production and quality teams to ensure paints are produced safely, efficiently, and in line with recognised quality systems such as ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.

Key responsibilities:

  • Measuring and weighing raw materials according to paint formulations
  • Mixing and producing paint batches to the correct specifications
  • Testing and monitoring batches to ensure consistency and quality
  • Recording batch information and maintaining accurate lab records
  • Working in line with company quality procedures, including ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards
  • Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe laboratory environment

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience as a Lab Technician, Paint Technician, or in a similar manufacturing or laboratory environment
  • Experience working with paints, coatings, chemicals, or similar products
  • Knowledge or experience of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 quality systems
  • A strong eye for detail and the ability to follow precise formulations
  • A reliable, organised, and proactive approach to work
