AS400 / IBM Support Specialist
3-Month Temporary Contract
Hours: Mond-Frid (8am-4pm or 9am-5pm)
Based in Thornbury
18 - 25 per hour (Depending on experience)
We are looking for a hands-on AS400 / IBM i Support Specialist to join an established team on an initial 3-month contract.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys investigating problems, getting to the root cause and finding practical, long-term solutions.
The Role
You'll act as a specialist point of support for AS400 / IBM system issues, independently investigating problems and identifying ways to improve system performance and business processes.
You'll be responsible for:
- Investigating and resolving AS400 / IBM i system issues
- Writing and enhancing reports and SQL queries
- Analysing and validating data
- Troubleshooting system and process failures
- Documenting findings and providing clear recommendations
- Developing sustainable solutions to improve processes
What We're Looking For
- Strong AS400 / IBM i knowledge
- Good SQL and report writing skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability
- The confidence to investigate issues independently
- Experience with data analysis and system processes
- Experience within a manufacturing or operational environment would be an advantage.
