WAREHOUSE OPERATIVE

About the Role
Our client is looking for an experienced and reliable Warehouse Operative to join their busy team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the efficient organisation of stock, goods in and out, deliveries, storage and the movement of materials around the site.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is organised, practical and takes pride in maintaining a safe, tidy and efficient working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, check and unload incoming deliveries.
- Record and process goods received accurately.
- Ensure stock is correctly labelled, stored and maintained.
- Pick and prepare stock and materials for delivery or production.
- Prepare orders and goods for dispatch.
- Load and unload vehicles as required.
- Maintain accurate stock control.
- Move materials and work in progress safely and efficiently around the site.
- Ensure materials are available when required to avoid delays to operations.
- Maintain clean, tidy and organised storage and working areas.
- Manage pallets, bins and waste in accordance with site procedures.
- Deal with returned goods and materials.
- Operate a forklift truck when required.
- Support the wider team with general warehouse duties.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and working practices.
- Follow all relevant health, safety and workplace procedures.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- At least 2 years' warehouse experience.
- Good numerical and literacy skills.
- Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
- Good attention to detail.
- Experience with stock control and goods-in/goods-out processes.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A practical, hands-on approach.
- Good communication skills.
- A strong awareness of health and safety.
- A dependable and proactive attitude.
- The ability to remain calm and effective when working under pressure.
- A willingness to identify and implement improvements.
- Forklift truck experience/certification would be advantageous.
