We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to join our finance team. This is a broad role in which you will be responsible for the operational finance function as well as managing a direct report. You will be responsible for the internal finance operations as well as statutory and tax compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Full responsibility for managing the day-to-day finance function
  • Managing junior members of the finance team - overseeing their work to ensure accuracy and assisting with their development
  • Implementing financial controls, systems and procedures to continuously improve operations
  • Producing monthly management accounts
  • Leading the UK audit
  • Business partnering with other teams across the business
  • Managing a US subsidiary company
  • Managing payroll for the UK company, US company and remote employees
  • Reporting payroll relevant information to HMRC e.g. P11Ds, PSA
  • Preparing VAT returns
  • Compliance filings in each country in which we operate, such as withholding tax obligations, tourist tax filings, and monthly, quarterly and annual informative filings in various countries
  • Managing external relationships with advisors (e.g. Auditors) and service providers
  • Adhoc analysis and compliance tasks as required

Who we are looking for

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified
  • Previous experience in an in-house finance role, preferably in a start-up environment
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, the ability to prioritise and manage expectations
  • An all-rounder with a ‘hands on’ mentality
  • Ability to make decisions and show judgement independently
