We are seeking a skilled Splunk Engineer to lead the development and optimisation of log management and observability solutions. This contract role is ideal for someone who can design and implement robust Splunk environments, build custom dashboards and alerts, and help organisations get actionable insights from their data. You'll work closely with security, infrastructure, and DevOps teams to improve visibility and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, configure, and maintain Splunk environments for performance and scalability
  • Develop advanced dashboards, searches, and alerts to support observability and/or security monitoring
  • Onboard new data sources and ensure parsing, indexing, and tagging are optimised
  • Assist with Splunk upgrades, clustering, and performance tuning
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand monitoring needs and translate them into technical solutions
  • Support alerting, incident response, and root cause analysis workflows
  • Provide documentation and knowledge transfer at project handover

What You Need:

  • Hands-on experience with Splunk Enterprise and/or Splunk Cloud in production settings
  • Strong skills in SPL for queries, reports, and dashboards
  • Familiarity with integrating data from sources such as syslog, AWS, Kubernetes, or security tools
  • Understanding of Splunk architecture, including indexers, forwarders, and deployment servers
  • Experience supporting security use cases (SIEM) or observability/infrastructure monitoring
  • Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality results under tight timelines
  • Excellent communication skills for working with distributed teams
