We are looking for a Software Engineer to support national security initiatives through the delivery, maintenance, and enhancement of secure software systems. In this role, you'll work as part of a cross-functional technical team, solving complex challenges in high-trust environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain secure software solutions within national security frameworks
  • Collaborate with DevOps, architecture, and infrastructure teams to deploy robust and scalable systems
  • Work on-site (Cheltenham, Manchester or London) for secure project delivery, with flexibility for partial remote working
  • Support pipeline deployment, infrastructure automation, and cloud-based solutions
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing, mentoring junior engineers, and improving engineering standards

What You Need:

  • Current DV (Developed Vetting) security clearance
  • Strong coding skills in one or more: Python, Java, Scala, C/C++, JavaScript, SQL
  • Cloud experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP), with understanding of secure architecture
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as AWS CodePipeline, Azure DevOps, or Jenkins
  • Hands-on with Infrastructure as Code and containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Familiarity with security tooling, Zero Trust Architecture, or cyber security concepts
  • Knowledge of big data tools such as NiFi, Spark, or OpenSearch is a bonus
