We are now looking for a skilled and motivated Field Team Manager – Solar to lead our growing team of electrical engineers.

The Role

As a Field Team Manager for our Solar division, you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers specialising in the installation of solar PV and battery storage systems across domestic and commercial properties. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong technical expertise, a commitment to safety, and a passion for delivering high-quality renewable energy solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of electrical engineers to deliver safe, compliant, and high-quality installations.
  • Promote a strong health and safety culture, ensuring all team members adhere to PPE and safety protocols.
  • Provide technical support and act as an escalation point for on-site issues.
  • Monitor team performance through KPIs, coaching, and regular reviews.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Design Teams, and Quality Supervisors to resolve installation and audit issues.
  • Ensure compliance with Plug Me In’s audit and quality standards.
  • Support the installation of other renewable technologies such as EV charge points and air source heat pumps.

What We’re Looking For

  • Level 2/3 in Electrical Installation (2365), Level 3 Solar PV (2399), and Inspection & Testing (2391).
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification.
  • Proven experience in supervising solar PV and battery storage installations.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational abilities.
  • Willingness to travel and work across various locations as required.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • ECS Gold Card.
  • SSSTS, SMSTS or equivalent site supervisory qualifications.
  • Experience with technical drawings and renewable energy software tools.
