Our Plug Me In division focuses on providing innovative renewable energy solutions, including commercial solar, EV charging, and heating systems. We are dedicated to delivering high-quality products and services that meet the evolving needs of our clients and contribute to a sustainable world.

We’re looking for a dynamic Business Development Manager to identify new business opportunities, build strategic partnerships, and drive growth across our key market segments. Working across our full product range, you’ll play a key role in supporting business expansion and increasing market share through well-executed development plans.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for developing a strong pipeline of new business opportunities across a range of sectors and products, with an expectation of generating £1m+ in new revenue within the first year. You’ll lead on proposal development and tailored sales strategies, while building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, partners, and industry stakeholders. Working closely with internal teams across marketing, sales, operations, and finance, you’ll ensure a joined-up approach to business growth. You’ll also represent the company at industry events and networking opportunities, promoting our brand and building connections. Regular reporting and performance tracking will form part of your responsibilities, keeping the leadership team informed of progress and opportunities.

Location: Remote with travel to any of our office locations as and when required.

Hours: Full Time (37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday)

Salary: £60,000 – £65,000 per annum + Commission

What We’re Looking For:

Qualifications

  • A degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or a related field – or equivalent experience – is desirable but not essential.

Experience & Knowledge

  • Proven experience in business development, with a strong track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Knowledge or experience in one or more key market segments: leisure, logistics & warehousing, manufacturing, or commercial property management.
  • Skilled in applying a range of business development techniques to engage and convert prospects.
  • Proficient in using CRM systems to manage client data, track interactions, and analyse performance.
  • Strong relationship-building abilities with experience in maintaining long-term client partnerships.
  • Confident negotiator with the ability to close deals while maintaining positive client relationships.
  • Able to analyse market trends and competitor activity to shape and inform sales strategies.

Technical & Behavioural Competencies

  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven ability to develop proposals, negotiate contracts, and close deals effectively.
  • Solid understanding of sales strategy, funnel management, lead generation, and prospecting techniques.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills with clients and partners, supported by high emotional intelligence.
  • Collaborative team player who can also work independently and take initiative.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think strategically and make data-informed decisions.
