We are building a new UK based studio backed by one of Asia’s most successful digital entertainment companies. With a strong heritage in avatar based digital worlds, live service mobile experiences and community driven products, the business has generated significant international success across Asia and is now expanding into the UK, European and North American markets.
The studio’s mission is twofold:
- Rebuild and localise existing successful Asian titles for Western audiences
- Create entirely new products and experiences designed specifically for UK, European and American users
This is a rare opportunity to join at the foundational stage of a major international expansion and play a leading role in shaping the future creative direction of the studio.
About the Opportunity
This is not a traditional Creative Director role focused purely on visual oversight. We are looking for someone who can connect product, design, UX and creative into one cohesive live service experience. You will help define how products feel, function and evolve across gameplay, monetisation, UI/UX, service design and visual identity. The ideal candidate understands not only how products look, but how they work end to end. You should be equally comfortable discussing:
- player behaviour and engagement
- game mechanics and progression systems
- monetisation flows
- UX and interface design
- visual direction and creative identity
- live service optimisation
- audience localisation for Western markets
This role requires someone who can operate strategically while also bringing strong creative and design judgement at a detailed execution level.
The Business
The company has built one of Asia’s leading digital avatar and virtual lifestyle ecosystems, generating hundreds of millions in annual revenue and building highly engaged user communities across mobile platforms. Its products combine gaming, social interaction, personal expression and digital lifestyle experiences, creating immersive virtual environments that evolve alongside real world culture, events and trends. As part of its global expansion strategy, the company is now investing heavily into the Western market opportunity, beginning with the launch of a London based creative and product studio.
The UK studio will play a central role in:
- Localising existing live products for Western audiences
- Reimagining UX and creative experiences for UK and US users
- Developing new products for international growth
- Building a scalable creative and product organisation in Europe
What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Defining the overall creative vision and product direction
- Overseeing UI, UX, visual identity and player experience
- Guiding product and service design decisions across live mobile products
- Evaluating game mechanics, progression systems and monetisation flows
- Building cohesive product experiences aligned to Western user expectations
- Leading and mentoring multidisciplinary creative and design teams
- Working closely with product, development and leadership teams
- Helping shape the long term creative and cultural identity of the UK studio
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who combines:
- Product and service design thinking
- Strong creative and visual judgement
- Deep UX and UI understanding
- Strategic product vision
- Experience working on live digital or mobile products
- Strong leadership and communication skills
You do not need to come exclusively from gaming. Candidates from mobile products, digital entertainment, consumer apps, virtual worlds or highly interactive digital experiences are all of interest. What matters most is the ability to think holistically across:
- Product × UX × Creative × Audience × Commercial Experience
Team & Structure
Initially managing a core creative and product team of approximately 8 people, growing to oversee a wider team of 12–15, working directly with senior international leadership, helping build the long term UK studio culture and capability.
Location
London based, hybrid working model (minimum 3 days per week in office).
Why This Role Matters
This is an opportunity to help build something from the ground up with the backing, stability and ambition of a globally successful digital entertainment company. You will help shape how globally proven products evolve for Western audiences while also influencing the next generation of products created specifically for the UK, European and North American markets. For the right person, this is a chance to define the creative and product identity of an entirely new studio at a pivotal moment of international expansion.
