A strong technical knowledge of Proclaim is essential, particularly the ability to interrogate ledgers, investigate historic issues, and identify root causes within the system. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with a solid legal cashiering background who wants to specialise in the technical and systems side of finance within a law firm – particularly if you enjoy improving processes, working independently, and solving complex account queries.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Investigating and resolving historic ledger issues, residual balances, and account discrepancies
  • Reviewing and remediating client and office account balances in line with SRA Accounts Rules
  • Analysing Proclaim ledgers to identify root causes of issues and implement corrective actions
  • Working on technical clean‑up and remediation projects across finance and legal cashiering
  • Investigating reconciliation breaks and supporting account corrections
  • Reviewing suspense and unallocated receipts to ensure funds are allocated correctly
  • Supporting audit preparation and ensuring robust documentation is maintained
  • Acting as a technical point of contact for ledger and Proclaim‑related queries
  • Collaborating with fee earners, finance, and operational teams to resolve historic account matters
  • Supporting continuous improvement by identifying recurring issues and recommending process enhancements

What We’re Looking For:

  • At least 3 years’ experience working as a Legal Cashier within a law firm
  • In-depth working knowledge of Proclaim from an account’s perspective
  • Strong understanding of legal cashiering principles and the “why” behind processes – not just transactional inputting
  • Good working knowledge of SRA Accounts Rules, including areas such as VAT on disbursements, residual balances, reconciliations, and mixed receipts
  • Strong Excel skills and confidence working with data and ledger extracts
  • Ability to investigate issues, work independently, and use initiative to find solutions
  • A methodical, detail‑focused approach with strong organisational skills
  • Excellent communication skills when working with fee earners, finance teams, and external contacts
  • Understanding of Proclaim from a case management perspective
  • Exposure to wider finance assistant duties in addition to your legal cashiering experience

What You’ll Get in Return:

  • Opportunity to specialise in a more technical, project‑based legal cashiering position
  • Hybrid working model with flexibility built into the role
  • Exposure to systems, process improvement, and finance remediation work
  • Supportive and collaborative team environment
  • Opportunity to shape processes and add genuine value to the finance function
  • Long‑term development opportunities – including study support options (employer‑funded after 12 months)
  • 22 days AL + Bank Holidays, with buy/carry over options
  • Employee benefits: death in service, healthcare plan, EAP, counselling, and salary sacrifice
  • Extras: free conveyancing, mortgage advice, staff discounts, free under service to/from Navigation Road station and our office
