We're looking for a qualified conveyancer to join our Risk, Compliance & Training (RCT) team as a Senior Conveyancing Technical Specialist. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys the technical side of conveyancing but is ready to step away from the pressures of managing their own files, client expectations, exchange deadlines and billing targets. Instead, you'll use your experience to support case handlers and post completion team members across the business, responding to file specific queries, sometimes taking the next required action on the case, resolving technical queries and delivering the best possible outcomes for our clients.
Working as part of a close-knit and highly experienced team, you'll review some of the more complex aspects of a file, provide practical guidance to case handlers and post completion colleagues, get involved in specific aspects of the case, identify recurring themes and trends, and contribute to the continual improvement of our processes and service standards.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Providing technical guidance and support on conveyancing matters, including more complex cases and new build
- Responding to queries from case handlers and post completion team members
- Reviewing cases and advising on the most appropriate next steps
- Supporting the Post Completions team with requisitions and registration queries
- Assisting with AML, source of funds and data protection related queries
- Helping identify trends, recurring issues and opportunities for process improvement
- Contributing to the development and refinement of internal guidance, processes and procedures
- Supporting investigations into technical issues and escalated matters where needed
- Working closely with colleagues across the Risk, Compliance & Training team to share knowledge and best practice
- Where necessary taking the required action on a case which may involve occasionally liaising with clients and third parties
What We’re Looking For:
- Qualified Solicitor, CILEX or Licensed Conveyancer (Level 6 CLC or equivalent)
- At least 5 years' experience running your own conveyancing caseload
- Strong technical knowledge across a range of residential conveyancing transactions, including more complex matters
- Experience handling transactions involving areas such as new build, first registration and title restrictions
- A solid understanding of the post completion process, including Land Registry applications and requisitions
- Knowledge of AML, source of funds and wider compliance considerations within conveyancing
- The ability to analyse issues, investigate problems and provide practical solutions
- Comfortable communicating technical advice and guidance to colleagues
What You’ll Get in Return:
- The opportunity to step away from the pressures of running a caseload while continuing to use and develop your conveyancing expertise
- A genuine opportunity to influence processes, identify improvements and help shape how technical issues are handled across the business
- A collaborative and highly experienced Risk, Compliance & Training team that shares knowledge, supports one another and values new ideas
- Flexible working arrangements, with hybrid working as standard and remote options available for the right candidate
- Join a growing, tech-driven law firm with a genuine focus on innovation
- Long-term development opportunities – including study support options (employer-funded after 12 months)
- 25 days AL + Bank Holidays, with buy/carry over options
- Employee benefits: death in service, healthcare plan, EAP, counselling, and salary sacrifice
- Extras: free conveyancing, mortgage advice, staff discounts
