The Solution Architect sits at the intersection of Commercial and Product functions, serving as the definitive technical authority throughout the pre-sales, solutioning, and product definition lifecycle. Operating within CellPoint Digital's payments orchestration platform business, this role translates complex client requirements and commercial opportunities into technically credible, commercially viable architectures - ensuring that what is sold can be built, and that what is built reflects the requirements agreed.

Reporting to the Head of Delivery, with a dotted line to the CCO, the Solution Architect will equip the commercial teams with the depth and confidence to win and support client requirements by leveraging core skills and knowledge of the product capabilities.

How You Will Make an Impact:

  • Lead the technical solutioning process for strategic and enterprise prospects, defining architectures that leverage CellPoint's orchestration capabilities across acquiring, routing, payment method management, and value-added services.
  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for RFPs, RFIs, and client workshops, translating commercial requirements into coherent solution designs.
  • Create and maintain a library of repeatable solution patterns, reference architectures, and configuration blueprints to accelerate commercial velocity.
  • Partner with Sales and Account Management to scope, size, and validate commercial proposals - ensuring technical feasibility is embedded in deal structures from the outset.
  • Present solutions confidently at C-suite and technical leadership level with clients and prospects.

Product & Engineering Interface:

  • Bridge the gap between commercial requirements gathered in the market and the product roadmap, and opportunities from client engagements into structured product input.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Managers and Software Engineering team to ensure new capabilities are designed with cost effective and achievable implementation contexts in mind.
  • Help define and maintain solution architecture standards, integration patterns, and API usage guidelines across CellPoint's platform.
  • Provide technical input into product discovery, feature definition, and acceptance criteria - acting as a proxy for the client's technical perspective.
  • Work with Product Owners to evaluate third-party integrations, partner capabilities, and ecosystem components.

Client & Delivery Governance:

  • Support onboarding and implementation team with the phases, ensuring solution designs are accurately handed over to delivery and integration teams.
  • Identify and mitigate architectural risk at the point of sale and during transition to delivery, reducing rework and escalation.
  • Act as an escalation point for complex technical queries during active client relationships.

Thought Leadership & Enablement:

  • Work with Product Owners to develop internal enablement materials - technical playbooks, competitive positioning, solution briefs - that increase the capability of the commercial organisation.
  • Stay current with payment ecosystem developments: scheme changes, regulatory shifts, emerging orchestration patterns, and competitor positioning.

Skills you will have fine-tuned:

Essential:

  • At least 8+ years' experience in client-facing solution architecture, technical pre-sales, or senior technical consulting roles, with at least 4 years in the payments industry, ideally internationally.
  • Demonstrable expertise in payment orchestration, acquiring & PSP relationships, and environments.
  • Strong command of payment methods, card scheme rails (Visa, Mastercard), alternative payment methods (APMs), regional acquiring dynamics, and value add services.
  • Hands-on experience with API-first platforms and enterprise integration architectures.
  • Proven track record of leading technical solutioning in complex, multi-stakeholder commercial environments - from discovery through to proposal and closure.
  • Experience working at or across the boundary of commercial and product/engineering functions in a technology or fintech business.
  • Ability to produce high-quality technical documentation: architecture diagrams, integration specifications, solution briefs, and executive summaries.
  • Experience working and collaborating across senior and executive customer stakeholders.

Desirable:

  • Direct experience of orchestration solutions.
  • Background in airline, travel, or hospitality verticals - industries where CellPoint has a strong incumbent position.
  • Experience in product management or product strategy capacity, not solely pre-sales or delivery.
  • Familiarity with PCI-DSS, PSD2/Open Banking, 3DS2, and relevant compliance frameworks.
  • Experience engaging with enterprise procurement and RFP processes at major airlines or global merchants.

What's in it for you:

  • We offer you the opportunity to be an innovator, challenge the status quo, and redefine the payments category.
  • Competitive salary in a fast-growing start-up.
  • Medical insurance.
  • Rewards & Recognition system.
  • Opportunity for personal and professional growth in a dynamic industry.

What makes CellPoint Digital a leader in the payment landscape isn’t just our technology - it’s our people and how we work together. We’ve built a global community where diverse talents and perspectives unite to create innovative solutions. When you join us, you become part of something bigger: a collaborative culture that crosses borders and disciplines, bringing out the best in every team member to deliver breakthrough results for our clients and partners.
