Aviation’s carbon footprint is growing, and "net-zero 2050" is too far away. At MAKO, we’re decarbonising the global fleet right now. By applying the biomimicry of shark skin to aircraft, our functional film is set to save billions in fuel and megatonnes of CO2 annually. We are hiring a Quality Manager to coordinate our quality activities, ensuring we deliver film around the world for installation that conforms to aviation regulatory requirements.

The Mission: What You’ll Do

  • Systems Leadership & Sustainability: Lead the development and growth of the systems required to deliver conforming products in an aviation environment that will fly on thousands of aircraft and save megatonnes of CO2.
  • Quality Governance & Compliance: Execute quality processes such as non-conformity and corrective action investigations, quality management review meetings, facilitation of audits from customers and regulatory bodies, supplier assessments, document change management and approvals, engineering change boards and material review boards.
  • Operational Project Management: Drive project management of operational initiatives: track progress, measure impact, communicate feedback, and elevate changes to execution to ensure key milestones are met on time and project objectives are achieved.
  • Mentorship & Team Development: Train, mentor and update team members to be competent and informed with respect to relevant quality processes and procedures – empowering them to work more autonomously and efficiently.
  • Audit Facilitation & Strategy: Facilitate and lead audits from aviation regulatory bodies, customers and internal improvement initiatives.

  • First Year: You will drive the successful certification of MAKO’s manufacturing site through relevant aviation authorities by ensuring appropriate evidence of compliance has been collected according to documented processes and procedures.

About You

  • Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related discipline.
  • Proven track record (5+ years of experience) of developing quality frameworks from the ground up, aligned to international standards (e.g., ISO9001, AS9100 or similar) in a highly regulated environment (e.g., aviation, automotive, medical), preferably with exposure to a start-up or scale-up organization.
