We are currently seeking an adaptable, strategic, and solution-oriented Business Development Manager to join one of our Partner Success Teams. In this role, you will work alongside technical team members to expand Klarna’s largest and most strategic Payment Service Provider (PSP) partners; unlocking growth opportunities and delivering scalable, value-driven solutions. You’ll need to be comfortable in a fast-paced, self-directed environment where critical thinking, rapid learning, and strategic decision-making are essential to success.
What You Will Do
- Develop and evolve Klarna's PSP partnership strategy with a focus on growth: ensure our existing portfolio is aligned with global product and geographic ambitions, and identify where to deepen relationships, expand commercial scope, and unlock new value.
- Own the end-to-end relationship with PSPs: contract negotiation, SLAs, commercial terms, service levels, implementation roadmap, and ongoing optimisation.
- Work cross-functionally with product, engineering, operations, risk/compliance, and GTM sales teams to ensure PSP integrations meet Klarna's standards, and unlock new merchant partnerships through our existing PSP network.
- Monitor PSP performance (e.g., volume, conversion, approval rates, chargebacks, fault rates), build dashboards, identify improvement opportunities, and drive value creation across the portfolio.
- Be the subject-matter expert on PSP capabilities and market trends: maintain deep expertise across acquiring, card networks, PSP business models, payments regulation, and market innovations.
- Spot opportunities to expand partnerships into new areas, such as embedded payments, alternative payment methods, and new market entry, and build the case to prioritise and launch them.
- Manage risk, compliance, and card‑network mandates impacting PSP relationships; liaise with networks, acquirers, and regulatory teams to keep Klarna ahead of evolving requirements.
- Evangelise Klarna's payment strategy internally: align stakeholders, build business cases, secure resources, and drive partner success.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to more junior partnership resources working on PSPs or adjacent partner segments.
Who You Are
- 5+ years in Business Development, Account Management, or Sales.
- Experience in payments, technology, and/or ecommerce.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Highly driven self-starter with a passion for learning.
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and thrive in ambiguity.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Thrive in an environment that values ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Awesome to Have
- Advanced degree or relevant certifications.
- Experience with international markets and cross‑cultural communication.
- Proficiency in multiple languages.
- Experience with CRM tools and data analysis software.
