Build a career that matters for you now AND in your future! An opportunity has arisen to join our sales department on the utilities team. With the business growing and plans to further solidify ourselves as the best in the industry, we are looking for a Technical Sales Consultant to grow the utilities business group alongside the Business Development Director and team. You will have a generous base salary, but should be hungry for success demonstrating your skillset with a go-getter attitude, supported by strong technical industry expertise, and a natural ability to drive continuous growth with a client-centric focus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client Engagement: Identify and proactively engage potential clients in the utilities sector through a variety of channels. Build and nurture strong client relationships with decision-makers, end-users, influencers, and procurement teams within the utilities industry.
  • Sales Process Management: Follow and adhere to the company's sales process. Maintain an accurate and up-to-date CRM system, including data recording, cleansing, and pipeline management to ensure effective reporting. Meet and exceed sales targets and quotas specific to utilities surveying.
  • Service Demonstrations: Deliver compelling technical presentations showcasing our utilities surveying capabilities, equipment, and software.
  • Technical Support: Provide expert technical support and guidance during the sales process. Assist clients in understanding and selecting the most suitable utilities surveying solutions for their needs.
  • Solution Design: Design and propose customized utilities surveying solutions based on client requirements. Prepare accurate and timely quotes tailored to customer expectations and RAG status. Partner with other business groups and teams to ensure alignment with client requirements. Explore opportunities for cross-selling utilities sector and upselling additional services within the utilities sector.
  • Market Analysis: Stay informed about industry trends, advancements, and competitor offerings in utilities surveying. Collaborate with the marketing team to effectively communicate the value of products and services.
  • Feedback Collection: Gather and analyse client feedback to contribute to continuous improvement of products and services.
  • Meetings & Communication: Attend internal meetings via Teams and face-to-face as required to ensure effective collaboration and alignment.
  • Your individual performance: Set your sights on ambitious but achievable annual sales targets, driving individual and group success with tenacity and drive. Enhance our conversion rates and bid tendering capabilities, securing large-scale deals that elevate our business. Offer innovative sales solutions to navigate challenging market conditions with agility and resilience.
